Welcome to the darkly seductive world of Celestin Edward, an artist born and raised in London. In Edward’s hands the camera becomes her paintbrush, depicting a variety of images that lean towards the feminist and are an exploration of the female psyche.

Citing masters such as Helmut newton and Edward Weston as influences, Edward also draws from the world of art (Da Vinci, Rubens, Yinka Shonibare) and contemporary feminist photography (Bettina Rheims, Lorna Simpson) to craft her powerful, evolutionary images that raise questions about what it means to be a woman, today, right now.

We currently have a selection of photographs on sale at the Willow, each signed by the artist herself. Please feel free to come by and and take a look. Miss Edward is a rising star.

The Willow Shoreditch is 1 today. Our first birthday! We’d just like to say thank you to all who have shown us support over the last year, our faithful customers, corporate clients and those who just pop by for a chat from time to time! We wouldn’t have done it without you and thank you for making it a truly amazing year.

We hope that the next is even more amazing and fabulous.

We’d like to introduce our new range of greeting cards, stocked exclusively by The Willow Shoreditch. The range was born from a collaboration with “H”, a brand by the talented Ms Heba Kleiner, a firm Willow Favourite. The graphic identity is in keeping with our current obsession with all things typographic and the cards are all beautifully hand-printed with vintage font casts. Simple messages: Happy Birthday, Thank You on black, white or ribbed natural card in black, red or gold. It’s the words that count and we prefer to keep them to a minimum. we’ll let you fill in the rest…

We should also hopefully have in a range just in time for Valentine’s Day so all you love birds out there take note. Literally.

Its been a while since we last posted and what better way to ring in the new year with some of the amazing press that we’ve been getting. First up is a piece from British Vogue, compiled by Jo Ellison. We’re part of a group of shops that are currently pushing the trend for hybrid retail.
